Our Worship

To members of the Lord’s church…

If you are passing through we would love to have you visit with us! The truth will be preached (2 Timothy 4:2), and all aspects of worship and teaching will only include what is authorized by God’s word (2 Timothy 3:16-17; Revelation 22:18-19). We strive to do all things as the first century church did (2 Timothy 1:13)We would love to have you worship with us during your travels!

To our other visitors…

We would love to have you come and visit with us this Sunday or Wednesday! We know that visiting a new or different place can often be unnerving or even scary. We want you to know that we will not smother you or try to make you feel uncomfortable in any way. We are all normal people who feel the same things you do.

So, what will happen during the worship services?

  • There will be Singing – We believe what the Bible (God’s inspired word, 2 Peter 1:20-21) says about the only kind of music that is pleasing to God during worship. God only authorizes that we sing to him (Colossians 3:16, Ephesians 5:19). Singing is what pleases God, so our services will be in a capella. There is no piano, organ, guitar, or drum involved in our worship to God. Why?Because only singing is authorized.
  • There will be Prayer – Prayer, which is a part of our daily lives, is also a part of our worship services (Philippians 4:6, 1 Timothy 2:1-2). We pray for our needs, the needs of others, and to give thanks for the things that we have been given. These prayers are addressed to God, in the name of Jesus Christ (John 16:23; 1 Timothy 2:5).
  • There will be Giving – Only members are commanded to “lay something aside every week (1 Corinthians 16:1-2). We will not ask you for money, nor should we accept it. This is what sets aside the Lord’s church from many in the denominational world. We show our love to God (as members of his church) by giving (2 Corinthians 9:6).
  • There will be observation of the Lord’s Supper – We can see from the example laid forth in the scriptures that we are to do this every first day of the week (Acts 20:7). We do it to remember Christ’s death until he comes again (1 Corinthians 11:23-26). This again is something that only the members of the church do. You are not required to participate in this act.
  • There will be Preaching – God commanded Christians to teach his word (Matthew 28:18-20). For this reason, every Sunday we gather together to hear and study another lesson from God’s Word (2 Timothy 2:2; cf. 1 Corinthians 1:21). We hope that you will bring your Bible and listen attentively to God’s inspired word.

We hope to see you soon!
